The law college has been playing a prominent role in producing competent young lawyers. While many of them joined the legal profession, quite few have been performing impressively well in the department of judiciary. The has been attracting students from neighboring Andra Pradesh.
The number of legal luminaries visited the college like justice Shivaraj Patil, B.S Raikote, Chandra shekar former judge of Karnataka high court, late K S Hedge former judge of supreme court, K B Navadgi former judge of high court of Karnataka, justice Malimath former chief justice of Kerala high court, justice Rama jois , justice M S patil, justice N Y hanumanthappa, prof Ajjappa so on.
Raichur Education Society was later christened Taranath Shikshana Samsthe as a mark of respect to the founder. Sri. Bhawarlal Somani was the First President and Sri.G.K.Rajpurohit was the Secretary. Sri. Soma Raman Gouda was the President during 1965-87. Late. Sri.M.Nagappa, Secretary, took over as the Secretary in 1971. During this period, B.R.B. College of Commerce, S.S.R.G. Women’s College & S.C.A.B. Law College were established 1974. The present President Sri. Parasmal Sukhani took over in 1987 and since then several new job oriented courses, like B.B.M., B.C.A., P.G. Diploma in Fashion Design Technology and new subjects like Computer Science, Microbiology, & Bio-Technology have been introduced. And there has been a special focus on quality education.
The Management, comprising eminent persons drawn from different walks of life is known for its commitment, dedication and transparency. Selfless and self-effacing, the members, present and past, have put their heart and soul to ensure that quality education is imparted to the people of this educationally backward area, the poor and needy in particular. The General council has 27 members and each Institution is administered by a Managing Committee.
Taranath shikshana samsmthe a pioneer educational institution of Raichur, started Seth Chunilal Amarchand Bohra Law college in the year 1974 with a view to the growing legal educational needs of the people of this backward area earlier the college was affiliated to Karnataka University Dharvade. The great philothrphist Seth Chunilal Amarchand Bohra family of Raichur came forward with a magnificent donation of Rs. 51,111 the college is named after the Donor in deference to their wish. The college which was earlier housed in the BRB College of commerce till 1991. And then it was shifted to its new building. This new building was inaugurated by Sri. S. Bangarappa former chief minister of Karnataka.

Sri. Pandit Taranath
Even before independence, Pandit Taranath (1891-1942), an intellectual, educationalist, social reformer and a freedom fighter, thought first to establish a primary school especially for the poor and the downtrodden. His dream came true in 1920 when he was able to establish the “Hamdard School”.
The school later grew into a high school and further started pre-university courses. Pandit Taranath was the inspiration behind the commencement of arts, science, commerce and law degree colleges. His service in the field had encouraged a group of philanthropists to constitute an educational institution — Taranath Shikshana Samsthe — named after him. The Laxmi Venkatesh Desai (LVD) College of Arts and Science began in 1954, the B.R.B. College of Commerce in 1964, the Gunj Merchants Junior College in 1970, the S.S.R.G. Women’s College of Arts and S.C.A.B. College of Law in 1974. jubilee year in 2004.
